After an introduction into 'desert life', we drew our own cacti on sugar-paper using black oil pastels (a large array of cactus photographs, as well as a few live potted plants were made available to help us choose the type of species we wanted to draw). Thereafter we carefully cut our cactuses out and put them to one side. We then created our desert landscape on a seporate sheet of paper using rollers and warm desert shades of camel, tan and terracotta. When our deserts were dry we stuck our cactuses into the 'sand' to grow and feel at home. ole.
