We had the awesome privilege of having the SA Birds of Prey Centre visit our school with some of the gorgeous animals in their rehabilitation programs. This included a beautiful (and tame!!) cheetah named Amber. One of the interesting things we learned, was that the cheetah in fact belongs to the dog family, as they don't have retractable nails in their paws, their spine extends into their tails and they pant when the they get hot to cool themselves down. After we said good-bye to the animals and they had left to return home, I painted my kids faces like cheetahs and we played outside 'in the wild'.
I highly recommend face-paint! Most kids squeal with sheer delight at the opportunity of having their faces painted and its a fun, colourful way to encourage creative play and learning. I almost always paint my face at the same time.
