My 4 year old boys just adored this lesson...they got to splash paint everywhere and then fly away in a reeeally fast rocket.

Here we splattered watered-down paint over black sugar-paper with old toothbrushes. While our galaxies were drying, we drew our rockets on newspaper with black oil pastel and then I helped them carefully paint white poster paint between the lines with baby paintbrushes to make them stand out against the dark sky.
