Medium: mixed media on paper

Here we used rollers to make our beautiful sunset skies and I showed them photographs of sunsets so they could see how the sky grades colour as the sun goes down. While our backgrounds were drying, we drew palm trees on black-sugar paper using white chalk and carefully cut them out. Chopped dates and coconut were available in small bowls on the tables if they felt like an exotic snack and when our skies had dried, I helped them stick their silhouetted palms into position.
