'Mommy & Me' day

I got my kids to draw and paint (nursery dye) their beautiful mom's faces on small square pieces of white paper. I cut them out, laminated them and glued them to ice cream sticks. We then decorated small plastic pot-plant holders with newspaper and old telephone directory pages - tearing small petals out of the paper to make flowers decorations around the edges and decoupaged them when they were done, ready for when the moms came to school.

The day started with us singing 2 songs for the moms, one of which was Letterland's 'Eddy Elephant' song (with the theme of the letter 'e' we had been learning about) and we painted elephant masks in class leading up to the day. Then the children gave their moms the cards they had made with the lolly-pop face inside, they then went outside and potted some fresh herbs into their pots with mom and played on the jungle gym while their moms had some tea.
